about the brand

The Body Shop was founded in 1976 by Dame Anita Roddick in Brighton, England. The Body Shop is an iconic British retail brand with an extensive and growing global presence. It is dedicated to enriching people as well as the planet, working fairly with farmers and suppliers and helping communities thrive through its Community Trade program.

The Body Shop's cruelty-free collection is also 100% vegetarian and contains no carmine, petrolatum, gluten or mineral oil. It has never tested of its ingredients or products on animals and never will.

about the products

This is a bronzer and highlighterwith Community Trade Honey and Vitamin E to condition and care for the skin. Add 1 drop to your moisturizer to get that glow OR 1 drop to your foundation to enhance or mimic a tan. You can gradually build your tan by increasing the number of drops.
This has a lightweight gel-like texture and gives the skin that "natural" glow instead of shimmers.

Made with high-purity pigments, 100% vegetarian, true-matte lipsticks enriched with Community Trade Brazil Nut Oil and beeswax for a nourishing, long-lasting finish.

The individual shades all click in and out of the palette casing, so you can switch shades between palettes and quads. Shades come in different finishes: true mattes, iridescent shimmers and sparkles. All shadows can be used dry or wet for more intense, vibrant color.

My Thoughts
I have never tried any makeup from The Body Shop before and these Down To Earth eyeshadow quad palettes have a nice, really smooth texture to them. The shimmery shadows aren't gritty to the touch. The mattes don't have much fall out so as the shimmery ones. The darker shades are great to use wet to get a darker intensity from it. I have learned that these are best used with an eyeshadow primer. I love how you can click in and out the shadow pans, so I can mix and match the eyeshadows that I want to bring with me. I'm not sure if we can buy individual shadow pans at the store since this option is not online. Customizing the palettes would be a great addition to this collection.

The lipstick is unfortunately too dry. It's hard to apply and it doesn't really feel comfortable to wear. The Honey Bronze Drops Of Sun I haven't really used much since I have been bundled up head-to-toe BUT when it's warm enough to show some legs, I'll definitely try this out and mix it with my body lotion. I don't really want to mix this with my moisturizer or foundation because I break out from face oils. I have tried it on my hands and with one drop + hand cream, the tan is very subtle so don't be scared to add drops to build up the tan. It's not sticky to the touch and dries, sinks in to the skin pretty fast.

By the way, these are all on sale right now on theBodyShop-USA.com !!!
