HOURGLASS Ambient Edit Palette

Every year, every month, days and every second there are always new makeup products coming out! I surely can't keep up with all of them. I don't follow trends but if it's a very raved product from all the beauty bloggers and beauty editors, I start looking more into it, and see if I really WANT it. I don't just want to buy it for blogging purposes but will I be really using it a lot?
In the case of this product, I know I love the brand already, and it's very raved about, and so
during the SephoraVIB 20% Off Event, I treated myself to this beauty.

The Surreal Light Palette evokes the magic hour of lighting, where the sun brings the softest, most flattering glow to the complexion. Formulated with Photoluminiscent Technology to capture, diffuse and soften surrounding light to refine the appearance of skin.

How To Use

My Thoughts
This palette has been a permanent part of my makeup routine since I got it. The setting powder, Surreal Light, just gives the skin a nice glow. I don't like the all-matte look and the Hourglass powders just gives that nice finishing touch, to soften any makeup look.

The blushes does highlight the texture on my cheeks, so I try to just apply this on the side of my cheeks and use a matte blush on the apples of my cheeks, where most of my uneven texture is.

The Surreal Bronze Light is too light for me so I kinda use this as a finishing powder.

The Surreal Strobe Light is definitely perfect for highlighting or "strobing". It's not as bright of a highlight as other highlighters that are very in-your-face-type of highlight. This highlight when applied on the high points of the face (tops of cheeks, bridge of nose, brow bone and cupid's bow), reflects the light and gives you a natural glow highlight. Compared to other highlighters  this is great for everyday, simple makeup looks.

Overall, I think this palette is not for those who likes to go over-the-top; to be dramatic with their makeup looks. This is good for makeup you wear to work, to a lunch date, to the supermarket or to the doctor's office - it's a great everyday palette. It's definitely a splurge but I don't think you can find any other face powders as beautiful as Hourglass cosmetic powders.
