What's New from The Makeup Show NYC 2016

Every year, I look forward to The Makeup Show NYC like how kids look forward to Disneyland (like "I'm too excited to sleep" kind of vibes)!
This is pretty much "my Disneyland" where I get to see what's new in the makeup work; to shop more makeup that this girl do not need, and to learn from some of the most talented and successful makeup artists all in one place!
A lot of beauty brands as well will launch their new products here, and I have a few here from
The Makeup Show NYC 2016

About The Makeup Show

The Makeup Show (TMS) brings two---days full of inspiration, education and an opportunity for fashion and beauty professionals at all levels of their career to come together with some of the best brands and biggest names in the business.

If you are in the Beauty industry, I highly recommend to attend The Makeup Show. They are showing in 5 different US cities right now: NYC, Dallas, LA, Chicago and Orlando and have Pop-Up Shops in Atlanta and San Francisco.

About the products

These new beauty products were part of celeb MUA, James Vincent's "The Makeup Show Favorites" for this year (*except for the last item on this post)
I am so excited to share you some of these beauty products that launched as they are from some of my favorite beauty brands, so without further ado let's start with...

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics
Lip Tar Liquid Lipstick in "New York Groove"
(exclusively only sold at TMS)

OCC (obsessive compulsive cosmetics) exclusively released 3 different lip tar shades during TMS, Cosplay, Poolboy and this customized shade made with James Vincent called New York Groove.

James had described this as the perfect nude shade for all skin tones!

Make Up For Ever
Aqua XL Eye Pencil Waterproof Eyeliner

A long wearing, waterproof eye pencil that is very creamy and goes on smooth with instant color intensity. A pro artist favorite that will not smudge, crease or fade until you remove it.

Eve Pearl
Liquid Lipsticks in Barely Pink & Plum Naked

Formulated with Aloe, Coconut Oil and Vitamin E to keep lips hydrated.
Both colors are ideal for everyday wear and for all skin tones.

ARM SWATCH

Kat Von D (KVD)
Shade & Light Eye Contour Quad
Shade & Light Eye Contour Brush

"Kat Von D’s high pigment, silky, and blendable eye shadows in a covetable, coffin-shaped palette. Bring out the best in your eyes with a neutral base, and then use the contour, define, and highlight shades to create your ideal eye shape. Each quad includes an easy-to-follow how-to insert, illustrated by Kat Von D, so you can lift, define, widen, and narrow eyes with color."
I will have a separate review on this soon!

Vera Mona
Color Switch Duo brush cleaner

"Stroke your brush against the Duo sponge to completely remove eye shadow color to then switch to the next color. The Duo also has a sponge in the center that can be soaked with water or a fixing agent to then dampen a brush for wet makeup application."

This was an impulse buy and I debated on this the whole time I was at the show. I came to a decision to purchase so I can share you my thoughts on it since I haven't really heard about this or seen any beauty gurus and beauty bloggers review it.

I did a first impression/trial of this on Snapchat: fivetwobeauty a few days ago and it's an OK brush cleaner. I haven't really used it much but so far it's not one I would run to Sephora for or go online to purchase right away. I suggest, read more reviews on this before spending that much money on it.

To my fellow beauty bloggers, if you get a chance to attend to huge beauty events like this, don't forget to bring your Blog Business Cards with you. This is a great place to network and speak to a lot of beauty brands PR's and owners. Most of the time the owner of the brand will be at their booths and will happily speak to you about their brand and products!

I also try to attend as many seminars during TMS (which I unfortunately didn't get to do this year) because you learn a lot from the professionals on how-to do eyebrows (and not the Instagram brows), contour properly or do an ombre lips instead of what we see on Instagram or other social medias. You cannot beat learning from the best in the industry.
