Drugstore Haul + Mini-Reviews

I seriously did not need anymore makeup after IMATS and The Makeup Show BUT the drugstore beauty brands were coming out with such great products and I couldn't help but try out some. Over time, I have accumulated all these products and found them at different drugstores.

When I'm in the city and happened to find a drugstore near by, I knew I couldn't walk out of there without these hard-to-find products! It's like a gamble with drugstores here, you find it at one drugstore and at the next one I go to, it will not even have the display of the new product line at all, and so I either walk out of there hating myself, and hoping to see it at another store with a better deal OR grabbing one or two plus the sales and coupons going on.

Quick note: I have not opened the nail polish and the Manga mascara in the picture yet. I'll definitely let you guys know my thoughts on the mascara and watch out for a "Nail  Of The Day" picture on my Instagram + Twitter in the future!

This will be a lengthy one since I will be discussing a few products here besides the ones in the pictures above. Let's start with the most talked about drugstores eyeliners of the moment:

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Silkissime Silky Pencil Eyeliners
Cobalt Blue + Highlighter
This retailed for $9.99 at the Rite-Aid in downtown. They were having a Buy 1, get 50%  off 2nd Item sale that week. Since I couldn't find this at my local Walgreen's, I grabbed these two. I have seen and read good reviews on these and have been looking for a nice cobalt blue liner. Curiosity got to me so I grabbed these two:

Highlighter: shimmery champagne shade / Cobalt Blue: deep true blue shade

The picture below is using the Cobalt Blue pencil on my top lash line. It goes on really smooth, the color is the perfect cobalt blue - very pigmented! This easily can be smudged if you want a softer look. This liner stayed on all day until night. I had no problems removing it with an eye makeup remover. I also do love that the color of the pencil's packaging is it's shade so it's easy for me to find in my box of liners!

One thing I did not like about these is when I used the Highlighter pencil in my lower waterline, my eyes were burning! I have dry eyes and so I'm very picky of what liners I can use in my waterline. So far, no drugstore liners have passed including this, sadly. And so I have only used the Highlighter pencil to brighten the inner corners of my eyes.

Wet n'Wild Megaslicks Balm Stain Moisturizing Lip Color
Red-Dy or Not + Lady And The Vamp
These retails for $2.99 at the Rite-Aid here. I am not sure if prices vary where you live but I got this again on a 40% off all Wet n'Wild products sale. I have already purchased one before and have mentioned how I love these Balm Stains and so I went to buy two more shades I wanted to try out. You can find my quick review, HERE!

These two shades have left a nice stain on my lips but I do need to re-apply throughout the day because the moisture don't last after eating and drinking. I actually forgot my lip balm one day and only had this in my purse and I'm so happy it did keep my lips pretty moisturized, so I didn't mind re-applying.
Red-Dy or Not: true red shade / Lady And The Vamp: berry shade

Maybelline Color Sensational
This retails for $8.99 at my CVS. There was a Buy 1, Get 50% off 2nd Item sale when I purchased this with a mascara. I have read mixed reviews on this product and just had to try it out myself to believe. I, unfortunately had to return this and forgot to write down the shade. I took this picture while I was still in the car right after I purchased it, and I seriously returned it the same day!
I had applied it on and loved the rose-mauve shade. This shade was great for everyday wear and will go great with any eye makeup look from day to night! Unfortunately, this had a strong floral fragrance that was so overwhelming that I had to wipe it off my lips after a few minutes of wearing it!   I can't even describe the strong, super artificial fragrance it had. It was one of those scents that when inhaled through the mouth it makes you gag and grab a mouthwash to wash it off. This was not for me.

Maybelline Volum' Express Pumped Up! Colossal Washable Mascara
This retails for $5.99. The brush on this mascara is pretty fat but it did get all my upper and lower lashes easily without smudging all over my eye area. The Maybelline mascara formula have this not-so-wet consistency, which I really like. It's not flaky nor gets all over your eye area by the end of day.
I always curl my lashes with a lash curler before putting any mascaras and this claims to give you:
"Pumped up volume up to 16X with the first double shot brush that scoops up an extra shot of plumping formula for the most pumped up volumizing lashes ever"
which may be exaggerated but after 2-3 coats I did get a good volume on my lashes. I have only used this a few times but so far not that bad.

Garnier BB Eye Miracle Skin Perfector Daily Eye Roller
Light/ Medium
This retails for $13.99 at my CVS. I have been on an under eye concealer product hunt and when the Sunday newspaper had a coupon for Garnier's new BB Miracle Skin Perfector Face and Eye Cream line, I took the offer and bought this.
I love the silver roller ball that feels cool on the skin as you apply the product under the eyes. I roll this out under my eyes and wait for a bit before dabbing and blending it out, maybe apply my eye primer next or conceal my blemishes as I let my body heat melt the product a bit (I hope that made sense!). I have found this technique to be working well for me as it easily blends well to the skin. I set this with banana powder and I haven't had any cakey or creasing problem.
I just started using this recently and so I have not seen any improvements about my dark circles, but I think the roller ball do help with the puffiness a bit. It do conceals well and is great to use on those No-Makeup Makeup days! This shade is not very brightening so if I do want that in my eye area, I would use my other brightening-concealer product.

Maybelline Color Tattoo 24HR Leather
80 Creamy Beige
I was so excited to have found this at Bed, Bath and Beyond for only $5.79 (+20% off coupon)!!! This at the drugstores here retails for $8.99. These Maybelline Color Tattoos are great, I have the original color tattoos and do like it. The consistency of this Leather Tattoo is very creamy and you don't need a lot as it is pretty pigmented as well. This one has no shimmer and goes on smooth and do last all day with no creasing. I use this as a base or sometimes by itself on those days I just want a natural look + winger liner. I may get another shade maybe a darker shade for an easy smokey eye look. I did look at swatches of these Leather Tattoos online before picking one up and saw not all of the shades have the same consistency so I suggest do some research before grabbing one.

I obviously did not need any of these but overall, most of these products were worth getting and I am glad to have purchased them. I hate returning products to the drugstores and so I try to buy wisely and only buy what I really, really, really want to try and will be using them for a long time.

What have you picked up in the drugstore recently? What drugstore products have you been loving lately? Comment below and I'll add them to my list so I can check it out!
