L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion

When K-beauty and other asian beauty brands came out with their cushioned foundation products, I was hoping this trend will follow in the US and though it took a while but it's finally here! The asian ones do not really match my skin tone as their shades are pretty light (even the darkest shade is too light on me and has a gray undertone).
I have not used a drugstore foundation for so long because of my last traumatizing purchase years ago but I really wanted to try it so I was optimistic that one out of the 12 shades of the
L'Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion
will match me.
*The shade pictured in this post is actually NOT my shade. Keep reading and I'll tell you the story below.

About the brand
L'Oreal is a French beauty company, headquartered in Clichy, Hauts-di-Sine in France.
It is the worlds largest cosmetic company. They have products from hair care, body care, nail care and skin care besides their makeup products.

About the product
True Match Lumi Cushion
"fresh luminous glow in a tap"
A sponge drenched in liquid foundation formulated with Precise Match Technology to match your skin's tone and texture. This has a fresh & luminous finish with a buildable coverage from sheer to medium.

Comes in 12 different shades.
To find your shade, you look at what your undertone is which the letters on the beginning of the shade names stands for:
C - cool (undertone shades)
N - neutral
W - warm
And from there you have four choices, from lightest to the darkest shade of the foundation.
Most displays will have a helpful card to help you find your match. Mine didn't have it so I went to my trusted buddy, Google to look up how to find the right shade for me.
The plastic packaging is a rose gold lid with a white bottom.
It comes with a foundation sponge and underneath it is the sponged soaked in the liquid foundation.

My Thoughts
As I have mentioned earlier, the N5.5 was not my shade and had to exchange this with the shade W5.5, which matches my medium-tan skin tone really well. The N5.5 was the darkest of the Neutral Undertone foundations but this looked light on me. Hubby said it matches me but when I look in the mirror I see it's a bit lighter on me (*he even gave me a puzzled look like as if I was just testing him, men! lol!)
I love the buildable coverage on this. It is very lightweight on the skin that I love using this for my everyday simple makeup. I do prefer using my Pür Minerals beauty sponge than the sponge that this came with because it's easier to blend out the foundation. I also tried using my Etude House foundation brush and it worked well with that too. I think any dense makeup brush will work too if you prefer using a brush than a sponge. I use a setting spray to lock in my makeup instead of powder because I want to keep the luminous effect it gives on my skin.
The packaging is really pretty and the mirror inside is very useful for touch-ups during the day.

Here's a selfie picture taken with the front-facing camera of my iPhone under a daylight bulb lamp, hence the soft glow effect to it.
I love how this foundation gives my skin that nice healthy looking glow all over! And I only used a highlighter on my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose.

Here's a video I have uploaded on my YouTube channel of a quick review on the foundation.
You can also see how I like to apply this as well.

Overall, I will be repurchasing this ASAP! This has been working well with my combination skin This has kept my skin not looking dry and dull. I am not sure if I would be using this during the Summer heat waves but for this Winter season, it's a great foundation!
With the right face primer underneath, this had lasted on me all day and goes on really nice and smooth.
