Emjoi: Micro-Nail Nail Polisher

Once in a while, I love a good mani and pedi from the nail salon but most of the time I do prefer to do my own mani and pedi at home. Keep on reading to see if the
Emjoi Micro-Nail Nail Polisher
meets of getting salon professional mani/pedi results at home.

 About the brand
As a technological and style leader in the high-end personal care market dedicated to making the little details of life and personal care as simple and enjoyable as possible, Emjoi, Inc. has introduced an innovative selection of grooming and personal care products over the past twenty years, including the first epilator brand to make tweezing as fast and comfortable as an electric shaver. Also noteworthy is the Emjoi Micro-Pedi which is the ONLY motorized callous remover to have the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Acceptance.

About the product

Emjoi Micro-Nail Nail Polisher
"This unique patent-pending device has been created to smooth and shine finger and toe nails. With its innovative roller spinning 360 degrees at an amazing 30 times per second, it gently buffs away ridges, imperfections and discoloration while adding shine."

The kit comes with the battery-operated Micro-Nail; 2 rollers of the Micro-Smooth roller (gray) which is for smoothing and 2 of the Micro-Shine roller, used for the shine function.
The 2-AA batteries are not included.

This should be used first to buff and smooth the nail out.

My Thoughts
The very first time I used this tool, I was very impressed on how shiny my nails looked after!
It took me a while on how to hold the square-shaped Micro-Nail since it's a bit bulky and not really comfortable to hold at times.
Once it's on, the roller's speed cannot be adjusted. It only comes in one speed basically, but the rollers speed is gentle enough on the nail so there's really no way you would overly-buff your nails. You can see your nails starting to have that shine to it when using the Micro-Shine roller. Buffing my nails became a faster step to my mani/pedi time. I have noticed the nail polish goes on smoother and faster, and actually lasts longer! Less chipping as well!
The Micro-Nail is not strong enough to buff away really rough ridges on the nails though. One of my nails have rough ridges to them and no matter how many times I buff it with this tool, it would not smoothen the ridges away. OR if there are any glue or nail polish residue that was not removed by acetone, it's better to use a nail file to get that off before using this.
The Micro-Smooth roller has such a soft surface to it that it's really not meant to get that done or to even shape your nails. I do wish it came with a roller that will file to shape my nails.

Overall, I do like that the Micro-Nail keeps my nail polish longer and gives my nails that nice healthy shine to them when I do want to leave them bare. Though this cuts my buffing time in half, I prefer a tool to help shape my nails. If this kit came with a rougher textured roller for filing, this would be the only kit us, "at-home manicurists/ pedicurists" would need.
