Get Ready With Us at CitizenM Hotel

Before the beautiful-chaos of New York Fashion Week began, my bestie, Faith Roxas from loveroxie.com and I spent a night at CitizenM Times Square hotel since we are seeing the Mamma Mia! Broadway Musical later that night. A winter snow storm was forecasted to arrive that afternoon until Monday morning, so instead of getting home late and who knows how slow the trains will be running that night, it was best for us to turn this into a Girl's Night Out at one of the chicest hotel in the city!

Their lobby is just beautiful and my pictures just don't do justice as every wall and corner is full of great stuff to see, beautiful fireplace, huge paintings, floor to ceiling book shelves, comfy seating and more! Leather couches right in the middle for big groups; by the floor to ceiling bookshelf there are comfy couches as you watch TV or just admire the beautiful "chandelier" decor; on the other side is their CanteenM where you can get food and drinks as you relax in your choice of sitting area! Did I mention they have free wi-fi here!?

Right after check-in, I couldn't wait to see our room! The XL size bed sold me! Each room only comes with a king size bed which as you can see takes up one side of the room right beside the wall to wall window overlooking the beautiful NYC. The bed sits higher than your usual bed frame as underneath is a drawer where you can stash your luggages or any shopping bags you have. There are also closets with hangers by the entrance for more storage.

citizenM: beds so big you will need a compass to get out of them

We were welcomed with a plate of delicious cookies, and a universal adapter (for the international travellers - no need to look around for one, they have one you can use while staying here!).

Every room comes with this Samsung tablet, which they call Moodpad where you can control the room temperature, the TV, room music, colored lighting in the shower area, the window shades and the room lights! How awesome and futuristic is that?! You can also browse online, tweet, facebook and check-in through Foursquare from the Moodpad as well! The Moodpad does not leave the room at all and if you do take it home there is a fee that will be charged to your card. This information can also be seen on your confirmation email so read them to review their policies.

Now onto makeup! So for one night only we definitely overpacked our makeup bags and I actually still forgot a few products! Beauty blogger problems indeed! I did have an idea on what I wanted to create for that night, either a simple winged eye look with bold lips or smokey eyes with bold lips.

MAKE-UP

To see what Faith came up with her look, go check out her site LoveRoxie.com.

She did her makeup in front of the vanity mirror which has very bright daylight lights.

Since both of us don't fit in front of the mirror, I chose to do mine by the window. It was cloudy that day and already late in the afternoon. I got to enjoy the view while I did my makeup which was not bad!

I ended up going with a smokey eye plus winging out my liquid liner and adding a blue eyeshadow (Inglot cosmetics AMC eyeshadow #159) on top of my liner. This beautiful blue shadow is featured in the Inglot Cosmetics + Mamma Mia! collaboration Collection! which you can read more, HERE! If you like a more detailed post on my makeup please let me know and I can do another post listing all the makeup products I used.

OUTFIT
How can I not go with a sparkly top when I am about to sing along to ABBA music at Mamma Mia! on Broadway?!? Did I mention we danced on our seats to a few songs at the end of the show?

From the hotel, it is just a short walk to Broadhurst Theatre so it was perfect to pull off shorts with tights and long boots that night. We were very lucky as well that the snow/icy rain did not come until the next morning after we checked out! I kept my accessories minimal since my sparkly sweater was enough for me. A hat was a must that night since it was windy and cold still.

This is one fun show that the young and the old will have fun watching! The songs took me back to my childhood days just singing out loud in our living room. For the young ones who does not know ABBA, this is a great way to hear the songs of the disco era and hopefully become fans of ABBA. Not to mention any spoilers here but there's a great lesson that can be taken from here as well.

I did not want to make this post too picture heavy and so to see more pictures from our Girl's Night Out you can check out the Facebook album, HERE!
We met up with another fashion blogger, Fran of The Fancy Francy, to see the show. She also has a post about her outfit that night which you can see on her site, Fancy-Francy.com
And to see Faith's outfit and makeup look, check her site www.loveroxie.com
And if you are planning to come visit NYC and looking for a hotel, don't forget to check out
*Here's an extra tip: If you are planning to come for IMATS-NY in April, this hotel is walkable from Pier 94. CitizenM hotel beats all the hotels prices and being located right on Times Square, it is such a bargain!
