The gorgeous Lily from Beauty With Lily has invited me to do a collaboration with her with the super sweet Liz from My Pretty Obsessions to do what makeup looks are trending this Spring 2014. Who's excited?!?! I am! I'm usually not a big follower of what's trending, but I will try it out and see if it works out for me. We need to step out of our comfort zones once in a while, and for this post I kinda went overboard and went bold. Go big or go home right?!? More on that later.
Before we do head on to the look I chose, here are a few that Lily has found with her research that will be trending this Spring:
- Orange Lips *which Lily has chosen to do
- Cobalt Blue eyeliner/ eyeshadow *Lily pairing with her orange lips!
- Gold shadows *the look Liz will be doing
- Rosy Eyes
- Smokey Lilac eyes
- Berry colored cheeks
- Red Velvet Lips
- Metallic eyeshadows
- Chocolate Brown nail polish
- Navy Blue liner
Go check out what these awesome, beautiful, smart ladies have done with their looks!
*disclaimer: I am in no way a Professional Make-up Artist by showing this makeup look. Just like any other girl out there, I love make-up and get inspired by make-up looks that I see on Pinterest and Instagram, and I try my best to re-create them. The tips that I do mention on my posts are what works for me. It may not work for you but those are the ones that works for me. On that note let me show you my over-the-top make-up look.
I chose to do a Metallic Eyeshadow Look and used some bright shades. I also went dramatic with the cat eye on this look. I try to do an inner corner cat eye, which I think worked out well with the bright eyeshadows!
You're probably wondering where I would wear this look and what to wear with it. Well, I was imagining some Fashion Evening Event with my LBD (little black dress), killer stilettos and a matching blue-green metallic clutch. If you do want to make a statement at your friend's party: wedding, birthday or just a dinner party go ahead! Why not?!? It photographs well and it accentuates the eyes really well!

Why fit in when you were born to stand out? - Dr. Seuss |
For this look, I had wet my flat synthetic brush to pick up the Deep Sea pigments to make it "metallic" looking. I also just learned, using eye drops to wet your eyeshadow will make the shadow look more "metallic" and bright, so I will try that next time.
I also kept everything else in my face very simple, nude lips and a little color on the cheeks. I went more heavy on the contour as this I feel is a very strong look that needs some strong looking brows and contour. I am not very thrilled with my eyebrows here, I would have made them darker.
I am not a fan of false lashes but definitely add false lashes to this look! I am sure it will look gorgeous and fierce!
This can definitely be taken down a notch and be more wearable for a date night or for cocktails. I really like this look especially for Spring/ Summer, so try it out and let me know!
What color combo will you be sporting for this season? Which of the trends will you be trying out?!?
