hourglass vanish foundation review

If you ask me what's my HG foundation, I may not have that answer yet as I am constantly trying out different brands of makeup including foundations. Ask me for recommendations and I can give you a few that I like. If you ask me what's my favorite beauty brand and I will give you my top 5, and that includes Hourglass Cosmetics. I have fallen in-love with this brand since I've tried out their Ambient palette, Modernist Eyeshadow palette and their primer. So when Influenster gave me a chance to try out their new,
Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation and
Vanish Foundation Brush
I was very excited and had to control myself to not use it before I take my blog pictures.

About the products

Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick
$46.00 | www.sephora.com

This has double the amount of pigment vs traditional foundations for full coverage.
It has a 12-hour long wear + waterproof formula.
The formula adjusts to your body temperature to blend smoothly onto the skin, to get that seamless finish.
It's available in 26 shades.

*my foundation stick came with this dent on top since it was closed before all the product was fully twisted down.

Vanish Foundation Brush

PETA-approved foundation brush that has an ideal shape design, density and texture to achieve the most seamless finish with the foundation.

How to Use the Vanish Foundation:
Prime face with Veil Mineral Primer (or your preferred face primer if you like).
Apply 2-3 dots of the foundation per each section of the face.
Buff it with the Vanish Foundation Brush in tiny circular motions for a seamless finish.
*Start with less and add more if necessary.

My Thoughts
The shade Golden is a medium shade with golden undertone, which matched me perfectly. The foundation comes in this beautiful twist up with a triangular shaped packaging. Unfortunately mine came with a broken tip since the cover must've been closed before all the foundation product was twisted down inside.

The foundation has such a very creamy texture that it goes on really smoothly on the skin and blends easily. Definitely really easy to use! The brush buffs the product really well for a really seamless finish!

It does have full coverage but still gives a natural look to the skin. It's not matte finish so the natural glow of my skin shows through, which is what I do prefer than a full matted face.
It did cover any discoloration, redness and blemishes but it didn't "vanished" my pores around my nose, unless used with a primer that hides your pores already like Benefit's Pore-fessional or dr. brandt® Pores No More primers.

When I started testing, I had some dry skin problem areas and this clung to my dry skin. I have noticed as well after a few hours of wear, my skin was looking a bit oily than usual and the redness around my nose was starting to show, nothing a little touch up can't fix - but definitely not as long wearing as it claims. After using a setting spray, it do last all day with some blotting on my oily t-zone.

If ever I ran out of foundation, I would definitely repurchase this. I love that it's travel friendly because it comes in this stick form. I wouldn't agree to all the claims unless used with other makeup products to keep your makeup on all day and to hide your pores.

Have you tried this product too? What do you think?
