Review: NYX Dreamcatcher Palette- Dusk Til Dawn

"A limited edition collection of eye shadows that will be the answer to your dreams."

Around mid-January I purchased this palette from the Ulta website for $14.99 with Ult'as 20%off coupon. The NYX Dreamcatcher Palette comes in three different sets:
  • Dusk Til Dawn (picture shown above)
  • Stormy Eyes
  • Golden Horizons

About the Product:
  • The palette comes in this pretty rosey-pink plastic packaging with clear round windows on top so you can easily see the shadows inside.

  • The palette comes with 10 eyeshadows.
    • Dusk Til Dawn palette comes with two matte shadows:
      • matte light brown (great to use for the crease/ transition color)
      • matte black (to use as a liner or darken the outer "V")
    • And the other 8 eyeshadows are more on the shimmery/satin finish
      • The purple shadow (on the very top left of the palette) has some micro-glitters in it
  • The eyeshadow plate inside slides to the right to reveal a mirror and eyeshadow sponge applicator underneath!

Arm Swatches:

top eyeshadows

bottom eyeshadows

three of the eyeshadows I used the most

My Verdict:
  • This has been my go-to palette since I got it last month!
  • This has all the eyeshadows I need to do an everyday eye or smokey eye makeup look.
    • The cream shadow with satin finish is just perfect to use as inner corner and brow highlight!
    • The matte black and the purple shadows aren't as dark as I thought. The swatches took me a few swipes on the pan to get it that deep.
    • to darken my outer "V" I use the dark brown shadows on the bottom row
  • These are pretty creamy shadows and you can see from the swatches how pigmented they are!
    • No fall outs.
    • Blends easily.
    • They may not be LoracPro eyeshadow quality but for a drugstore brand the color pay off is great!
      • tip: Pat on the shadow first then blend it afterwards. *patting helps to pack on the shadow on the lids and keep the shadow where you want it!
    • I have never used this without an eye primer so I don't know if this creases without using any.
Overall this is a great palette to have. The shadows are pretty neutral enough that like I mentioned before you can use this as your everyday palette or for a nice smokey eye! Pretty much a very versatile palette. For the price, definitely a bargain for the quality of these eyeshadows!

Have you tried any of these palette yet?
