Marc Jacobs Beauty Haul Review

Back in May, Marc Jacobs Beauty website was offering 20% OFF on your entire purchase + Free Shipping over $50 and on top of that, Ebates was having a 15% cash back, saving me $37.14!
I thought it was a great deal to try more products from this brand. And I've been wanting to try one of their foundations, because of all the reviews I have read and seen on YouTube.
And finally after using these products for a few months now, I can finally share you my in-depth review on the following
Marc Jacobs Beauty products

I wasn't really sure which foundation to get but I do know I wanted a non-matte finish with medium coverage. And when I saw the Genius Gel Super-Charged Oil-Free Foundation | $48.00 I was sold! This is a water based foundation that's great for my sensitive/ combination skin, and has a natural radiant finish.  I just guessed my shade, and from looking at swatches online, I went with 46|Golden Deep shade which was a perfect match, before I got darker. The color range of this foundation is definitely more on the lighter side since the medium/tan shades still are very light. So test it out in Sephora first before purchasing online, mine will be used more in the Fall/Winter months.

I'm still in-debate if I like this foundation. I have been trying to use it with different face primers and so far it all gives me the same result. The foundation looks like it's sitting on top of my face, and emphasizes the areas where I have dry skin. It does have medium coverage and is buildable to your liking. Even though it's a very liquid-y foundation, I prefer to use a beauty sponge with this since I do see streaks when I use a brush. I still have to keep playing with this product, but so far it's not in my top 5 fave foundations.

Since this is an overall review of the brand, I have added two other Enamored Hi-Shine Lip Lacquer lip glossess on this post that I have purchased a long time ago. This has to be my favorite lip gloss out of all the glosses I've tried and used. These glosses are so comfortable on the lips, on top of a lipstick or by itself. I would actually grab this and use it like a lip balm sometimes because it's very moisturizing, and it leaves a nice very subtle minty-tingly feeling on the lips.

Rebel Rebel | $28.00 was my first purchase.  I love wearing this raspberry shade with blue shimmer finish, alone or on top of my red and pink lipsticks. When I wear this alone, it brings out the pink tones of my natural lip color. Then I purchased Love Drunk | $28.00 next, which is a mauve-gold shimmer finish. I wanted a more nude shade to apply on top of my nude and mauve lipsticks. I have dark pigmented lips and this brings out the warmer tones of my lips - if that made sense.
From my recent haul, I added Love Buzz | $28.00 which is a shimmery rose gold shade. I personally don't wear this alone since it looks more like a frosty pink gloss on my lips than rose gold. This is great to use as a highlight topper on any lipstick though.
Love Drunk | Rebel Rebel | Love Buzz

I've read so many great reviews on their gel eye crayon so I added the High and Fine: Blacquer Edition | $34.00 in my shopping cart. The Highliner Gel Eye Crayon  is super creamy and so easy to apply. I love that this is a twist-up liner which includes a sharpener on the other end. I suggest to skip the Fineliner Ultra-Skinny eye crayon. This is also a twist up liner but can never be twisted back down. I'm not sure how much product is in this liner but I don't think it's a lot and not really worth the price. This suppose to have the same formula as the highliner gel eye crayon but this one's drier so this doesn't go as smoothly on the lids. I actually have broken the tip of this because I twisted it up too far the first time I used it and was putting tons of pressure so I can get an even line on the lid.

You can purchase the Highliner Gel Eye Crayon | $25.00 and Fineliner Ultra-Skinny Gel Eye Crayon | $24.00 both in Blacquer individually, I just thought this was a great deal for two gel crayons but unfortunately one isn't as good as the other product.

I'm so glad I purchased these products on a discount.
I didn't think I wouldn't like most of the products I got. I guess you can't really judge a brand from having one good product and thinking the rest of the collection would be great as well. I also shouldn't have expected a lot from this brand since they're not in the professional cosmetic field like Kevyn Aucoin and Bobbi Brown. Marc Jacobs is a fashion brand that ventured into beauty only in 2013, hence there's still a lot of improvements and changes that needs to be tweaked with their beauty products.

I won't be crossing out this brand out of my makeup list yet since there are still tons of products that I want to try. They just came out with new Eye-Conic Multi-Finish eyeshadow palettes and I need more HiShine lip lacquers. I also want to try out products from their Coconut Collection.

Have you tried any products from Marc Jacobs Beauty? What MJ products should I try next?
