Deck of Scarlet | Edition No. 07

When I started blogging there were only a few subscription boxes to choose from, and now, there are too many to count. Not in a bad way at all, yes it can get overwhelming because you may want to try all of them. One is different from the other, and they all have great products in them!
It's all about narrowing it down to what you really want from a subscription.
On todays post, I will be sharing you one of the beauty subscriptions called,
Deck Of Scarlet
and hopefully this helps you with your decision making.

Deck of Scarlet
Every other month Deck of Scarlet partners up with a top YouTube artist to create a beauty palette. One of the palettes they had was in collaboration with Roxette Arisa | YouTube.com – which comes with NINE beauty essentials from eyeshadows, cheeks, lips, and liners for only $29.95 to subscribers or a one time purchase for $44.95. Every palette is unique and is limited edition. Each palette comes with a sleeve which has a beautiful black and white image on them. The palette have a decent size mirror as well, which is great if you're going to travel with it.

Cruelty Free • Paraben Free • Made in USA
"Transport your look to sandy beaches with exotic hues of Bora Bora, a sizzling aquamarine shimmer and Bronzed, a metallic brown that builds a sultry gaze. Lovesick adds just the right amount of flush pink across the cheeks, while gold-tinged Roxstar highlights all your best angles."
The shade Bora Bora is so beautiful I just had to put it all over my lids, and I usually don't wear bright shadows like this one on the regular.
The highlighter, Roxstar is another favorite. I have applied Bronzed all over the lids and applied Roxstar on the center of my lids and as my inner corner highlight besides on the cheekbones, and it just gives you that warm bronzey-golden glow look.

It also comes with two creamy matte formulated lipsticks that you can layer or wear individually.
I'm really not a fan of lip products on a pan since it requires a lip brush to apply it. I do like that the lip products have a separate magnetic closure from the rest of the palette. The lip creams in Smootch (light brown) and Swept Away (dark brown) do complement my skin tone a lot and they really are very creamy to the touch and pretty pigmented. I do wish they were separate from the palette so I can take the lip creams with me, if I want to re-apply later in the day.

It also comes with Goddess, a rose gold eyeliner and Foxy, a warm nude color lipliner. These liners goes on so nice and smooth! Goddess was so easy to apply to the waterline, and is beautiful as well to use as an inner corner highlight. Foxy is the perfect warm nude shade, and because of it's tiny tip, this is so easy to use to line the lips with.

These swatches don't give the beautiful turquoise shadow, Bora Bora any justice. Bora Bora is a very vibrant shade that just pops over the Bronzed shadow. You can see at the cut-crease makeup look below that I did. Starry Eyed is so hard to see on this swatch because it almost matches my skin color, but this is a great base to use or for blending on the crease and lower lash line.

I applied Bronzed all over the lid up to the crease and applied concealer on the lids before applying Bora Bora with a wet brush. I used this shade also on my lower lash line and to soften the edges, I used Lovesick with a small blending brush.

These selfies were taken with an iPhone so the color contrast is different from the product pictures above. My lighting may have been too bright but you can see how beautiful Bora Bora is on the eyes. I used a bronzer as well to warm up my face and that helped make this shadow pop a lot.

my thoughts

Overall, I really like this palette! I really don't follow Roxette Arisa but I really like this set she created for Deck of Scarlet. The colors really complements each other and has challenged me to get out of my comfort zone to try this vibrant color.

I didn't expect the great pigmentation of the shadows and the face powders on this palette, and if all Deck of Scarlet shadows are this pigmented, I would check out their eyeshadow singles | $12.00 so you can custom create your own palette. Looking at the previous palettes they have, I am finding a lot of eyeshadow shades that I really like, I may customize one later on.

Again the subscription is every other month that will cost you $29.95 for NINE products. You can always skip a month if the palette isn't for you.
