May 2013 Favorites

Apologies for this being late, I know it's already mid-June and I am behind posting this. I gotta admit, I want to keep this post short so I narrowed down my favorites for May. I tried out a lot of new products this month and fell in-love with a lot of them. I may just have to give my other beauty faves a separate blog posts in the next coming weeks, so watch out for those!

I love May! Besides being it my birthday month, I just love the weather of May: the rain, the perfect weather after and the flowers blooming. I wouldn't be able to enjoy this nice Spring weather without my Allegra :) I'm not sure if I am developing pollen allergies but I started getting the sniffles and watery eyes lately.

All the bright colorful clothes and accessories, and makeup are out around this time and it just makes me cheery! I have even added colorful clothes in my very neutral palette of clothes and cannot wait to start wearing them all Spring/ Summer! And on that note let's start with My May Faves, beginning with nails!

My Butter London in Jasper. This has been my go-to Spring color. Very bold and bright! It's a nice break from the pinks and nude polishes for the Spring. It's a great way to add color to an outfit especially when I'm wearing all black from head to toe. This color compliments my tan complexion more compared to a Mint Green polish, which I actually don't have in my collection - not yet that is!

I know this is an old picture, I just want to show you the beautiful color of this polish. If you want to see how I did this nail art, click here for the nail tutorial!
I am in-loove my iPhone case! In conjunction with that Teal color theme! She is mostly Teal colored, perfectly matches BL-Jasper, and that was one of the reasons I bought it too :) I bought this in a Chinatown store called oo35mm. They also have a website and you can buy it, here. Do checkout your local iPhone case sellers too, they might already be carrying this brand! My iPad case is actually Teal too but that's an old case I bought last year, just a coincidence now all my accessories match ;)

With my hair, Clear Scalp Therapy Shampoo & Conditioner is awesome! This was part of the Allure Summer Beauty Box, and the one reason I wanted to get that box. I have been reading great reviews on this product and I agree with them! My dandruff is gone; my hair is pretty soft and looks healthier than before!

Make-up wise, theBalm Meet Matt(e) Nude. I have been using this palette to do my everyday eye look. It's a nice break from all the shimmery eye shadows from theBalm Nude 'Tude palette I have, but once in a while I would use both. It's pretty pigmented and easy to blend! This is one palette you should have in your collection.

For skin care, I have added in my routine the Fresh Umbrian Clay Mattifying Serum. This was recommended to me by the aesthetician who did my facial at Fresh, and she said this will be great in the Summer months since this will help control the oil in my T-zone. Since at Fresh the price you paid for the facial treatment becomes a store credit (more on that in an upcoming blog post!), this is my chance to purchase this product. I do get super oily in my T-zone during the Summer months and this truly helped my T-zone looking less oily! I did not need to blot 5 times in the day! More of just twice a day now! It's a pretty great improvement don't you think?!? I have been using a mattifying powder to set my makeup but that was not helping as much. I use this twice a day after I use my Thayer's Witch Hazel Toner. Click here, if you want to check it out in their website and read more about it. I highly recommend it and it's something to try out if you are looking for something to help control that oil!

And lastly, the Starbucks Free Song Download "Pick of the Week": In the Starbucks App, every week Starbucks offer one song that you would probably hear at a Starbucks Cafe. I have recently downloaded a song from Justin Timberlake, Miguel, and more. Not only they offer a free song but they also offer a free app download. The Starbucks app is a great way to organize the tons of gift cards you receive. Plus it's pretty cool to just whip out your phone and pay with the app itself!

You will find your free song download in your Messages box!

I am so excited to share you more beauty products that I have been trying out lately, but I would like to give you all an in-depth review and not just my first impressions on them so watch for more beauty review posts!

What have you guys been loving lately? Maybe I should add them to my beauty shopping list for the Summer!

  1. I have been wondering about the Clear hair products, the only thing is I use sulfate free shampoos and I don't think these are but maybe I will give the conditioner a try...I am always buying hair products anyway I might as well. I love that nail polish and the design you did! I'm always too lazy to learn nail art lol.

  2. Thanks! Check out my DIY on it, it's pretty easy. I love how this conditioner actually can be massaged to my scalp since I think that's what my dry scalp needed.
