Inglot's Virtual Makeover App Launch Event

I am no pro to Twitter and just love to get instant updates from the ones I follow and last week I saw this tweet from Inglot (@inglot_usa) that they are having an Inglot App Launch Event in their NYC Studio! This event was hosted by the lovely beauty and tech blogger Christen Rochon of Divas&Dorks. Check her blog right here!

I emailed my RSVP right away and waited (very patiently! trying out different outfits and what-nots!) for a week 'til the event. I was super excited about this since I was planning to go to their store and buy my first Inglot products for my birthday and this was just perfect to get introduced to the brand!

Let me tell you a little bit about the Inglot App, which unfortunately is only available right now on iPad and iPhone users. So I downloaded the app right away (and so should you!) and started playing with it, and can I tell you how this is the coolest make-up app out there! I'll do this in bullets so it doesn't look too overwhelming of a long paragraph, k!

  • When you pick the Start Makeover, you pick a gorgeous "selfie" pic OR take one on the spot OR choose a model from the app
  • Then adjust the brightness and contrast to your liking. The face recognition program on this app is pretty awesome that you only need to tweak it a little bit OR not at all with the Adjust button in the main menu/ home!
  • On the LEFT side is where you choose your cosmetics! Swipe to the right and you will see your product options starting from face to eyes to lips and cheeks! Yes this is where all the fun begins! So go enjoy!

  • On the RIGHT side is where you will see the products used! If you are not satisfied with the blush or lip color, you can remove it over here.
  • Don't forget to SAVE MAKEOVER! And in the Gallery you will be able to review your finished look and get a list of the products used in that look!
  • Now you're ready to go Inglot shopping! Attached below is the first look I made and shared with Inglot during the event.

first look I made!

A few problems I have found with this app are:
  • That you don't need to log-in or register so whatever look you make on the iPad will not sync with your iPhone app. I guess that's why they have that email option in the Gallery!
  • It also doesn't have the Share button to all the Social Media Apps like Instagram, FB, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter and others. I'm gonna guess that will be added later on, hopefully!
  • And once the Look is saved and in the Gallery, the look cannot be edited again.
So these are just minor ones that I am sure can be tweaked over time. For a first time release, I find this app to be pretty awesome! I have been playing with this and have done a few looks already and have a wishlist for my next Inglot shopping! It truly is a must-have app to all the beauty, make-up junkies out there.

Another best thing about the event is that they had 30%off on all their products that night, I went buckwild and bought tons - which I will make an Inglot haul post soon plus the goodie bag we got that night. I cannot wait to play with the new Inglot products I got and share it with you all!

Also! At the event there was a complimentary make-up brush cleaning service from Saving Face. Check their website, here! Inglot emailed that day to bring up to three make-up brushes for a complimentary cleaning, and this company by Nichole Dossous uses toxin-free soap to clean your brushes. It doesn't leave any soap smell on your brushes at all or dry it out. For those of us who have tons of make-up brushes, MUA or not, and just have no time or feeling lazy cleaning make-up brushes, this is definitely one way to get it done!

The night of cocktails, champagnes and make-up ended great! I got to try out a lot of their products, met a lot of beautiful, awesome people and brought home a bag of Inglot goodies! This might be a start of a great obsession with Inglot since their prices are pretty good for the quality that I am looking for in makeup. I will post more reviews of Inglot makeup after I have used them for a while. For now, download the Inglot App and start playing! Share it with them in their Instagram and Twitter using #inglotapp and @inglot_usa =)
