Spring 2014 Lip Trends

Let's take a break with all the beauty review posts and take a look at the Spring 2014 lip shades that are trending! A lot of bright shades popping this year and don't we just want to wear them all!?!

Tanya from Leopard Lace and Cheesecake have come up with this collaboration with three more other bloggers to show you all how each of us would wear one of the trending lip shades for this Spring!
Please do check out the gorgeous looks they have created by visiting their pages. Click on their names below and that will bring you to their Spring Trend posts!
I chose the oh-so bright Orange Shade Lip Trend which I have been seeing a lot in fashion/ beauty magazines, Instagram, Pinterest, online beauty sites and in the city streets.
I do have a few orange lip shades in my collection but I usually don't wear it alone. I know how this looks great on tanned skin since it will brighten up the face and it's a great pop of color! My problem is though, I like my lip shades darker all year long, and so what I do to still be in trend with the orange lip, I toned mine down by layering it with my red lip shades! I want to share you some of the combinations of lip shades that I have been playing lately.

Orange by itself is a scary shade, and it will definitely get you some stares, admirers and from me an applause for wearing such a bold color! This shade is just a little bit outside of my comfort zone so what I do is I mix and match my orange lip products with my red lipsticks.

These combinations of red-orange lip shades can vary from sheer to pretty opaque color on the lips. To give you an idea on where to start with the Orange Lip trend, if you want to try it out, here are a few of my faves:

Fresh SUGAR lip treatment in Coral: Is the sheerest one I have that I can actually just wear on it's own. It gives a nice toned down orange on my lips and it is such a plus that these SUGAR Lip Treatments are just so moisturizing!

Revlon lip Butters in Tutti Fruti + Cherry Tart: These Revlon lip butters are a great way to try out new lip shades since they are inexpensive, $5-6.99! The Tutti Fruti shade is a great orange shade on it's own. But since I want mine on the redder side, I add Cherry Tart to the mix! It's still a bright lip look that I usually wear during the day time.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lips in Romantic + CoverGirl Queen Jumbo Gloss in Q865: This combination is more red with a nice hint of coppery orange shade.

Milani Orange-Gina + Best Red: This combination is just beautiful! Orange-Gina is a darker orange than their other orange lip shade, Sweet Nectar. This by itself is very complimenting to my tanned skin, but when layered with Best Red - it is the gorgeous "Date Night" lip look for Spring! Let me show you what I mean!

I added gloss on top to give it that plumper lip look. I was actually trying to do an ombre lip look here but I can't help but blend them all out! If you have found a good tutorial on ombre lips please let me know on the comments below!

I hope this post inspires you to mix and match your lip shades to achieve that color you want. I hope this Spring Lip Trend Collaboration inspires you to come out of your comfort zone a bit and try out these beautiful lip shades that are trending for Spring. And if you are rocking those lip shades, which one is your favorite?!?

Have a great weekend!
